Why it works
Fabric & Construction

We chose a 55% cotton, 45% linen weave for this blazer because it strikes the right balance between structure and softness. Cotton gives the jacket enough body to hold its shape through the day, while linen introduces natural slub texture and temperature regulation.

Sizing & Fit

The Relaxed Fit Blazer is cut with a slightly dropped shoulder and a roomier chest and waist compared to our slim-fit styles. It’s designed to layer comfortably over everyday essentials without pulling or binding when you move.

How It Should Fit

The shoulder seam should sit about half an inch past your natural shoulder point. Sleeves are cut long enough to show a quarter-inch of shirt cuff when your arms hang naturally. The body skims your torso with about two to three inches of ease at the chest—enough room to button comfortably over a sweater without looking boxy.

Styling & Versatility

Styling & Versatility

This blazer thrives in the space between formal and casual. Pair it with edit shirts in crisp Oxford cloth for a polished weekend look, or throw it over a plain white tee and chinos when you want structure without stiffness.

The patch pockets keep it informal—welt pockets would push it closer to business territory—so it reads as a sport coat rather than an orphaned suit jacket. That makes it ideal for smart-casual dress codes, date nights, and any situation where a button-down alone feels too casual but a full suit feels like overkill.

Perfect for warm-weather layering
I bought this blazer in Stone for spring and it’s become my go-to piece. The linen blend keeps me cool even when temperatures climb, and the unstructured shoulder means I can move my arms freely without feeling restricted. I’ve worn it over tees, polos, and button-downs—it works with everything.

Finally, a blazer that fits right off the rack
I’m 6’1″ with broader shoulders and most blazers either fit in the chest or the shoulders, never both. This one nails it. The relaxed cut gives me room through the body without looking baggy, and the sleeves are actually long enough. No tailoring needed.

Comfortable enough for all-day wear
I wore this to a full day of client meetings and forgot I had a jacket on by the afternoon. The half lining and soft fabric make it feel more like a shirt jacket than a traditional blazer. I’ve gotten compliments every time I wear it.

Great texture, just needs a press
The linen gives it a nice casual texture, but it does wrinkle easily. I expected that going in, so I just steam it before wearing and it looks sharp. The fit is spot-on and the quality feels premium for the price point.

Versatile enough to dress up or down
I’ve worn this with jeans and sneakers for a casual dinner, and also with dress pants and loafers for a wedding rehearsal. It bridges the gap between formal and relaxed better than any blazer I’ve owned. The Navy colorway is incredibly versatile.

Love the unstructured feel
I was hesitant about the unstructured shoulder at first, but it makes such a difference in comfort. It drapes naturally instead of sitting stiffly on my frame. This is my new favorite piece for smart-casual events.

Good to know

Questions About the Relaxed Fit Blazer

The cotton-linen blend works best in spring, summer, and early fall when temperatures are moderate. The breathable fabric and half lining make it too lightweight for winter in most climates, but it’s ideal for layering in transitional seasons.

If you’re in a warmer region, you can wear it comfortably from March through October. For cooler months, consider pairing it with a wool or cashmere sweater underneath for added warmth.

The Relaxed Fit has a dropped shoulder, roomier chest, and wider lapel compared to our Slim Fit style. The Relaxed Fit is cut for comfort and layering, while the Slim Fit offers a closer, more tailored silhouette.

If you prefer a modern, streamlined look and don’t plan to layer heavily, the Slim Fit is a better choice. If you want ease of movement and the ability to wear the blazer over sweaters or heavier edit shirts, the Relaxed Fit is the way to go.

Patch pockets do lean casual compared to flap or welt pockets, but the clean lines and tailored cut of this blazer keep it appropriate for most business-casual environments. It works well for creative offices, client meetings outside the boardroom, and smart-casual dress codes.

For traditional corporate settings that require a suit, we’d recommend a blazer with welt pockets instead. But for modern workplaces, this strikes the right balance between polished and approachable.

We recommend dry cleaning only to preserve the fabric’s texture and shape. Machine washing can cause the linen fibers to shrink unevenly and may distort the unstructured shoulder.

If you need to refresh the blazer between cleanings, use a handheld steamer or hang it in a steamy bathroom. Spot-treat minor stains with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then air dry completely before wearing.

Linen naturally creases with wear, and that’s part of its charm—it gives the blazer a relaxed, lived-in character. If you prefer a crisper look, a quick steam before wearing will smooth out wrinkles.

The cotton content in the blend does reduce wrinkling compared to 100% linen garments, so you’ll see fewer creases than you would with a pure linen blazer. Hanging it properly after each wear also helps minimize wrinkles.

This blazer is versatile enough to pair with everything from casual tees to dress shirts. For a smart-casual look, try it over edit shirts in Oxford cloth or chambray. For a more relaxed vibe, layer it over a plain crewneck tee or Henley.

Button-down collars work especially well with the notch lapel, and the unstructured shoulder complements softer shirt fabrics like linen or lightweight poplin. Avoid overly formal spread-collar dress shirts, which can clash with the blazer’s relaxed aesthetic.

Ideally, the blazer sleeves should end about a quarter-inch above your shirt cuff when your arms hang naturally at your sides. This creates a clean visual break and shows just enough cuff to look polished without appearing too short.

If you prefer no visible cuff, the sleeves should rest at your wrist bone. Most tailors can shorten sleeves by up to an inch if needed, but our standard sizing is designed to show a slight cuff with most dress shirts.
